A few weeks ago, a friend from my web development class proposed an idea to me of an Android app that allows users to rate their experience in any bathrooms they may use. We will begin the actual development process as our spring term classes start in the beginning of April and hope to finish by the time they end in early June. My hope for this project is that we can produce an app that is of high enough quality to be published on the app store and learn a lot about Android Development in the process.
Features and Design
We’ve seen a couple similar apps but
The Tools, Technologies and Languages
- Android Development API
- Google Maps API
- Google Places API
- Genymotion Android Emulator
- Bitbucket (So git, basically)
Since my team member and I know practically nothing about Android development, we are using our spring breaks to get acquainted with the basics of Android development. This week we’ll cover a few of the Core Topics covered in the Android developer guides: From Activities to UI & Navigation. It’ll be a lot of reading to get done in only a week, but it
should be manageable. I’ll be posting summaries of the important information presented in each of these topics so that my blog may be used as a reference for me or anyone else who may stumble upon it.
